Do you drink to much coffee? Here is a recipe for the perfect Turmeric Latte
I will teach you how to say goodbye to coffee and say hello to a hugely popular superfood that’s warming, nourishing and not to mention, it has the one thing you are looking for – antioxidants!
Just went on a search for something that can improve my life by a few percent, and found a Google’s food trends report that just named turmeric as the breakout ingredient, with the internet searches rising since the last few years.
And since I fell in love with that hipster version of vegan coffee, I decided to create a simple “how to” make a turmeric latte at home infographic.
Turmeric – There’s lots of evidence that curcumin, a constituent of turmeric, is an effective anti-inflammatory, as well as fighting Alzheimer’s Disease. Add to rice for a vibrant yellow effect or make a “tea” by steeping chopped fresh turmeric root (available from Indian grocers) in hot water.
- fresh turmeric 3cm piece, peeled (or 3/4 teaspoon turmeric powder)
- fresh ginger 2cm piece, peeled (or ¼ – ½ teaspoon ground ginger)
- honey 1 heaped teaspoon
- black grounded pepper (for better body absorption)
- water 1 ½ cups (or milk, for a creamier drink)
- ground cinnamon ½ – ¾ teaspoon
